In 2003, Jim obtained the first Fen-Phen intermediate opt out award when a Beaumont, Texas jury voted in favor of his client. In 2004, Jim obtained three straight verdicts against Wyeth in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in the Fen-Phen litigation. In 1998, Jim obtained the first jury verdict against PPG Industries in asbestos litigation history when a jury in Beaumont, Texas awarded 7 families in a consolidated asbestos case tried by Jim and Motley Rice.
Jim is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and licensed in California, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2007 by Law and Politics magazine. He is married and the father of four children.
